Train Rides.
Public train rides are available most Sundays from approximately 11.30 a.m. to 16.30 p.m. Rides are given on the Club's one-third of a mile long track. Our station is called Victoria Halt and is situated opposite the children's playground at the south end of Victoria Park near the junction between Rotten Row and Weld Road. (see also How to find us) . Normally, trains are pulled by miniature coal fired steam engines but electric powered diesel outline engines are sometimes used as well. All the engines are owned by club members, many of whom have built their own engines. There is no charge for a ride but we welcome donations (suggested donation 50 pence). All donations received go to the maintenance of the track and the annual fixed costs associated with its operation. There will be additional train rides on Saturday 26th July 2008. There will be no train rides on Sunday 6th July 2008. |
