Technical Stuff How to find us Join Us Links

Join Us - You will be made most welcome.

Southport Model engineering club welcomes new members of all ages.

All that we ask is that you have an active interest in model making, helping to run a miniature railway accessible to the public, or in engineering or industrial heritage in general.

Southport Model Engineering Club enjoys a diverse membership. If you are browsing and enjoying this site the chances are that you will find joining us a decision you will never regret!

First and foremost you do not have to be an engineer by trade. Our members include people from all walks of life and all ages.

What does membership involve?

  • Firstly, there is the camaraderie with others who enjoy model making, and/or our country's industrial heritage.

  • Secondly, there is the pleasure to be gained in helping to run a miniature railway that is available to the public. Our Wednesday evening meetings will broaden your knowledge and understanding on a wide range of related subjects.

  • Last but not least if you need help in getting started in this all-absorbing hobby you can do no better than to join your local club.

How do I become a member?

Your first option is to come down to our site and introduce yourself. You will find someone on site on Wednesdays from about 11.00 a.m. until 21.30 p.m. and on Sundays from about 11.30 a.m. until about 17.00 p.m. (We are a members' club so these times cannot be guaranteed).

Your second option is to contact us. We will then send you a membership form to complete.
